Vivek Dahiya reveals why he was replaced by Fawad Khan in Khoobsurat:

In a chat with Telly Chakkar, Vivek openly talked about auditioning for Vikram Singh Rathore’s role in “Khoobsurat.” He disclosed being shortlisted and his initial ambition to break into Bollywood. Vivek recalled his early days in Mumbai, where he tried out for various film roles. One notable attempt was for “Khoobsurat” in 2014. Despite not landing the part, Vivek’s journey underscores the persistence required in the competitive industry.

Despite the makers’ appreciation for his personality, they requested Vivek to do a simple reading to assess his on-camera skills for “Khoobsurat.” Vivek admitted feeling nervous, which made him sweat and stumble during the reading. Recognizing his anxiety, Sonam Kapoor advised him to go home, practice his lines, and return for another reading.

Afterward, Vivek recognized that while he had talent, he wasn’t fully ready to take on lead roles in major films. He realized that auditioning well means understanding every aspect of a character, big or small. So, he trained himself extensively. Now, he feels confident in his acting skills, understanding how to bring characters to life on screen with authenticity and skill.

Khoobsurat hit the screens in September 2014, introducing Pakistani actor Fawad Khan to Bollywood. His performance garnered widespread praise, propelling him to fame in the Hindi film world.
