Pratibha Ranta Discusses Acceptance of TV Stars in the Film Industry:-

Pratibha previously starred in the popular Zee TV show “Qurbaan Hua” before taking a break from television. When asked about the audience’s acceptance of TV stars in movies, she responded, “I think audiences just want to see good work. They’re interested in good stories.” Pratibha notices changes happening, with people now preferring to watch quality content in theaters, even if it’s available on OTT platforms. She cites the example of “12th Fail,” which premiered on Hotstar, but people still chose to watch it in theaters afterward, demonstrating a shift in audience preferences towards the big screen experience.

Pratibha Ranta believes that what truly matters is the magic of the story. She thinks that nowadays, it doesn’t matter where the story comes from; as long as it’s good, people will talk about it and watch it. According to Pratibha, the key is to work with conviction. She emphasizes that as long as one puts their heart into their work, the divide between different mediums doesn’t matter.

Pratibha acknowledges a shift in the industry regarding scripts and roles for female actors. She notes that in the past, actresses had fewer substantial roles to showcase their talent. However, nowadays, roles are more defined, blurring the lines between mediums. Pratibha believes that the more layered a character is, the better the audience connection. Using her character Jaya as an example, she’s grateful for the opportunity to portray a strong and multi-dimensional character in her debut film, “Laapataa Ladies.”
