The Trailer Teased a Mix of Action and Patriotism. With Propaganda-Free Patriotism in Mind, We Spoke Exclusively to Director Ali Abbas Zafar About His Approach.
Ali Abbas Zafar shares Exclusive insights on keeping Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff film Patriotic, Not Propagandist:
Ali Abbas Zafar explained, “If a movie entertains, it won’t be seen as propaganda. The main goal is to entertain. We make movies for entertainment, and if they also stir emotions or convey something important, then we’ve succeeded. Many filmmakers have achieved this in the past. I hope to do the same. If my film carries a good message alongside entertainment, that’s great. But you can’t plan for it; it happens naturally.”
The director added, “My main focus is on giving the audience a break from their daily lives when they come to the theater. They’ve come to enjoy and escape for a while, whether by feeling connected to the story or being amazed by the action. That’s my top priority as a director. I always see the film from the audience’s perspective first. So, for any big-screen project, these are my guiding principles. ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is designed with heart and patriotism. The reason behind its patriotism will become clear when you watch it.”
