Saif Ali Khan Reveals Why Vishal Bhardwaj Dropped Aamir Khan from Omkara: Saif Ali Khan won a National Award for his role as Langda Tyagi in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara, but initially, Aamir Khan was considered for the part. However, Vishal dropped the idea of casting Aamir due to his tendency to interfere with scripts and demand changes. Vishal preferred to maintain creative control and decided to go with Saif instead.
Saif Ali Khan recently confirmed knowing that Aamir Khan was initially considered for the role of Langda Tyagi in Omkara. He revealed that Vishal Bhardwaj opted for him over Aamir because Aamir tended to ask a lot of questions and wanted changes to the script. Saif said, “Yes, that is what I heard later”, and added, “Vishal said, ‘he was asking me a lot of questions and he wanted to alter things”.

He just said it is not going to work because he wasn’t sure it was going to go the way Aamir wanted. It was not something Vishal was comfortable with following,” he said to Film Companion.
