Based on real-life IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and his wife Shraddha Joshi, it also marks Medha Shankar’s debut. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, it’s been praised as a standout film. The movie garnered multiple awards, including Vikrant’s Filmfare win for his stellar performance. Rajkumar Hirani recommended Vikrant to Chopra, for which Vikrant is deeply grateful. His portrayal has been widely acclaimed, adding to the movie’s success.

Vikrant praised Rajkumar Hirani for the success of “12th Fail,” thanking him for suggesting his name to Vidhu Vinod Chopra. In an interview, Vikrant credited Hirani, stating many opportunities in his life came through him.
Vikrant mentioned Rajkumar Hirani’s kindness since he began acting in films. Hirani has watched most of Vikrant’s work, and Vikrant has collaborated with some of Hirani’s former assistants who are now directors themselves.
Vikrant revealed, “He saw me on sets, and when Vinod sir and Raju sir discussed making this film, he recommended me for the project. I thank Raju Sir every time I see him. He’s quite shy when praised.”
